Ever feel like recruitment is broken?
Me too. I’ve felt it from both sides.
I spent years in recruitment, placing candidates, building teams, and watching great people get overlooked. People with the right skills but the “wrong” experience. Candidates rejected by algorithms or dismissed because their CV didn’t tick the right boxes. And on the other side, hiring managers under pressure — sifting through hundreds of irrelevant applications, making rushed decisions, and wondering why the hire didn’t work out.
The tipping point came during yet another conversation with a company claiming to care about diversity — but still hiring the same types of candidates, in the same way, from the same narrow pools. They weren’t lying. They just didn’t have a better option. That’s when the idea behind Align took shape: what if we rebuilt recruitment around what people can do, not just where they’ve been?
I imagined a system that’s smarter. Fairer. One that replaces outdated CVs with real insight into someone’s skills, values, and potential. That’s how the Job Passport was born — a verified profile that helps candidates show what they’re capable of, and helps employers hire with clarity and confidence. A way to open doors for people switching careers, and surface talent that would otherwise be missed.
This is personal for me. My parents came to the UK with almost nothing. They worked hard so I could have the chances they didn’t. Align exists because I believe talent is everywhere — but opportunity isn’t. And we won’t fix that by tweaking the old system. We need to replace it.
Thanks for being here. Whether you’re hiring, applying, or just exploring — I’d love you to be part of what we’re building.
Let’s rebuild recruitment. For good.
